Comprehensive Logistics is a process-focused company. This allows us to migrate our service model between industries with great ease. Here is how it works:
All changes, large or small, new business or continuous improvement of existing business, are routed through a Change Management Process to a central planning group. This central Advance Quality Planning group analyzes the Change Request for feasibility. Assuming we wish to proceed, we then meticulously engineer and cost the change in question. As part of the engineering process, we access a library that we keep of all our processes to ensure that all existing best methods and technologies are fully leveraged to the benefit of the customer.
Truth be told, our processes and technology are so evolved that we rarely encounter customer requirements for which we do not already have a solution and accompanying process. Where new elements may occur, these are usually customer-specific variants affecting only selected individual steps within a large process. If this happens, we modify an existing process, in effect creating a new variant to our core processes. We then store this in our library.
Once we have fully engineered a process to respond to customer requirements, we then perform an analysis of the risks associated with each step in the process. We do this with a multi-disciplinary team of all process stakeholders, including customer representatives, with a view to identifying the frequency and severity of all identifiable risks. Appropriate and effective process controls are then developed and built into the process in order to deliver high process capability from the first day of service. As the process begins to cycle, performance data is fed back to the Advance Quality Planning group and the engineering process is repeated ad infinitum, such that a continuous improvement cycle is created. This makes possible the better-than-World-Class performance that our customers have come to expect from Comprehensive Logistics.
What we have come to understand is that our core master processes tend to require very little modification in service to customers new and old. This is because they have already completed so many revolutions of the continuous improvement cycle. Our core processes are Receiving, Storage, Picking, Value-Adding, and Shipping. Any product moving through our Logistics facilities will require some combination of these core services.
In essence, although your product may have unique Key Control Characteristics (KCC’s) that we would address during planning, the basic process steps will not vary much. So at Comprehensive Logistics, we like to think that it matters less which "widget" we are processing than it does how effectively we process it. For this reason, we are able to provide value and high process capability to customers in industries as diverse as Health-Care, Aerospace, Consumer Goods, Chemical, Food and Beverage, Electronics and High-Tech, in addition to our core concentration in Automotive. These and all prospective customers stand to benefit from the technology, error-proofing techniques and process variants developed in service to our Automotive customers, where competitive forces and stringent legal and safety requirements have combined to produce a very demanding, time-sensitive environment.
